Calculation
Mean net cold rent in €/m² from the 2022 census, reference date 15 May 2022. The Federal Statistical Office provides values per 100 m grid cell with the number of rented dwellings. We assign each cell to a planning area by its centre point and compute the mean weighted by dwellings. Kiez and district values come from the same cells, not from averaging planning-area values.

Gaps in coverage
- Planning areas with fewer than 30 rented dwellings show “no data”.
- Cells with a high estimation error (over 15 %, flag KLAMMERN) enter the area mean but never appear as a single value.
Not included
- Existing rent, not asking rent. New leases can be considerably higher.
- Reference date 2022. The cell-key method adds slight noise, so single cells and sums are not exact. No update until the register-based census in 2031.
